Lausanne, Switzerland: –   Switzerland is renowned worldwide for its ideal location in the heart of Europe, favourable climate, providing guaranteed safety and security due to the country’s tradition of neutrality, and last but not least, for offering one of the best education systems (according to the World Economic Report).

One of the schools which was brought to wide attention in Thailand the past year is none other than Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande in Lausanne. Founded in 1906, this Day and Boarding school is where the late King Rama IX His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej together with his brother King Ananda Mahidol, were enrolled as day students between 1935-1945.

“Ecole Nouvelle is highly honoured by the 10-year presence of the two Thai Kings during their impressionable years,” said Mr. Sebastien Troyon, Admissions & Marketing Director of the school.  “In fact, a new building dedicated to the late King Rama IX, which opened in 2010 and graciously presided over by Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, stands in eternal remembrance and reverence of the late Thai King.”

Situated in Switzerland’s French-speaking region near Lake Geneva, a privileged position in the centre of Europe, Ecole Nouvelle is famous for its quality education, and benefits from more than 60 years of experience in organizing summer camps.

Every summer from 1 July to the first week of August, Ecole Nouvelle offers summer camps to students aged 9 to 18 from all over the world.  Camp location is the recently renovated, four-star Hotel Suisse with ensuite bathrooms in Champery, a beautiful village surrounded by mountains in Valais, Switzerland with the world famous Swiss Alps as backdrop.   It is also the largest mountain bike domain in Europe.

Fees are @CHF 2,000 per week inclusive of full board, health and accident insurance, 22 periods of French or English lessons per week, and outdoor activities amidst the fresh mountain, summer weather in the afternoon and playing games and other entertainment in the evening.  Classes are kept small between 4-7 students to allow the teachers to offer an individualized programme amongst others.

“Enrolling in the Ecole Nouvelle Summer Camp in Champery is a great opportunity for students to enjoy part of the long summer holidays in a beautiful and safe environment in the mountains and offers a valuable learning experience not only from lessons in classrooms but also from daily socializing and living with a large mix of nationalities from all over the world for a period of 2-5 weeks,” said Mr. Troyon in conclusion.
